ABOUT DHM

If there is one single thing in life that brings me joy, it’s being a mother.  Raising a child is hard, if you’re doing it right; but it can be so rewarding in the long run.  I’ve learned so much about myself and about what it means to be a mom over the last decade.  Many new moms have come to me over the past few years for advice on everything from hair care for their daughters to helping their sons contain some of that energy.

I’m no better than any other mother out there.  Women have been raising children since the beginning of time.  There are some things, however, that will separate a good experience from a not-so-good one.  I will use my blog to cover as much of it as I can, and along the way, I will be looking for your input on different topics as well.  We can learn and grow together on this journey.

One important thing to remember as a mother is not to lose yourself in your child or children.  I find time to still enjoy the things I love to do outside of spending time with the kids.  Of course, it’s easier now because they are getting older, but even when they were younger, I found time for me.

With that being said, I have a confession to make.  I am a tube-a-holic! I love watching some good TV.  I usually go for dramas or movies.  They just don't make sitcoms the way they used to, so I don't watch much half-hour television.  The hit BET comedy, "The Game," is the only sitcom I'm watching right now.  So consider this your warning.  There will be countless movie references in my entries.

Something else to warn you about if you're plan on following my blog.  It is a Christian-based blog.  I don’t know about you, but I can’t get through one single day without thanking God and recognizing that my life and the safety of my family are in His hands.  Not to worry though, I won’t beat you over the head with my inspirational sharing.

If you can hang in there with me as I develop my blog, you won’t be disappointed.  There is so much in store to help you get through this life and hopefully it will entertain you a bit in the process.  So get ready to laugh, cry and live a little!
