This was King's first year playing football. I was full of nerves at the start of the season. I had seen enough hard hits in college and NFL games to know that I didn't want to see King get tackled. But I found out just how tough he is in these last few months. I'll go into next season with less worries.
I'm thankful to King's coaches (Ray, Willie, Oscar, Chaz, Neal, Joe) for giving him some good playing time as a rookie. I'm thankful for their team mom, Amanda Martinez, for keeping the boys hydrated and tamed. That was a tough job!
Congratulations Oakleaf Knights 4th-5th Grade on a 5-5 season and on being the 2011 Black Creek Bowl Champions!
