Rain, Rain, Stay All Day!

So today, I just needed a break! Yesterday after working my third 10-hour day, I decided that on my day off today, I would get everyone safely out of the house and then climb back into bed and watch movies all day.  My co-workers kept reminding me yesterday that it was going to be raining all day Thursday, implying that it would ruin my day off.  My reply to them was "That's perfect!"   There was no plan for a big fancy breakfast, no running errand - not even a shower.

I did have to leave the house to go to Red Box, though.  I had watched my Netflix movie the night before (watch for my movie review coming soon).  At the Walgreen's Red Box, I picked up Sex in the City 2 and Takers.  I was looking for something a little more mushy.  You know, the kind of stuff I will never get Lon to watch with me.  But there wasn't much I hadn't already seen.  So I got SC2 for me and Takers for us to watch tonight. I also made a snack run inside the store.  Mind you, it's 8 a.m.  My breakfast consisted of Chewy Sweet Tart Minis and Cracker Jacks (for the prize, of course).  I'm normally a healthy eater, but lazying around all day watching movies and a healthy, balanced breakfast just don't mix.

I was about an hour into SC2, when I got a call from my sister.  She needed my help with something, which meant I had to get out of my comfy spot and drive to meet her.  But it was OK.  I still had another hour and half of SC2 to go. I love movies that take their time.   If it's a good movie, I can watch it all day.  I think that's why I'm so into The Young and the Restless.  It, like all soaps, is a never ending story.

Anyway, I met my sister, helped her out and then we got lunch at Sonics.  I came back home and dived right back into my movie, going back and forth between it and Y&R.  It's a skill I've mastered very well.  I laughed with the girls of SC2 and cried like a baby with Y&R (one of my favorite characters died today).

By the time all my entertainment was over, it was time for the kids to come home.  I thought it would be a good idea to get up and at least pretend like I had been productive all day. I took a shower and stood in my closet looking for some lazying around clothes.  Just as I was about to get dressed, King came running upstairs to greet me.  I quickly threw on my robe in time for a big hug and kiss.   I wasn't quite prepared for what happened next.

King looked at me and asked, "You're still in the same old robe from this morning?"  I replied with a big, "Yep! Just like you left me!"  He shook his head in disgust and walked away.  I said under my breath like a little kid, "At least I took a shower."

A few minutes later he was back with another probing question.  "Mom, if you were in that robe all day, how did you get that bag and slush from Sonics?"

Busted!

P.S.  I hope you had a wonderful and productive day!  Until next time...
