A Productive Day

So I had a pretty productive day today.  I love it when the weather is nice on my day off.  I got an early start on my errand after dropping Kingston off at school this morning.  I refused to go back upstairs and climb into bed.  Every ounce of muscle in my body wanted to, but I fought it.

I laced up my sneakers and went for a walk.  I usually head for the trail behind my complex that leads to the fitness center, but this time I decided to challenge myself.  I walked-ran the bridge near the kids school that leads to the first phase of our development.  It's about 2 to 3 miles both ways. The bridge kicked my butt - but I came back home full of energy ready to work on my blog.

So if there's a lesson in this, you should step out of the box and challenge yourself.  You never know what it might inspire you to do or become.

Now on to business.  I just posted an entry called "Making Time for Childhood Games."  It's an old post that I wrote almost 2 years ago.  I was going to go back through it and change some information, but I chose to leave just as it was written in 2009 when I was still in the planning stages of DHM.  It's something to entertain you while I get this thing up and running properly.

That brings me to my next order of business.  I have this very regimented outline of what you can expect under the  "About DHM" tab  Well, ahhmmm...I'm not there yet.  I am working to get everything in order, including preparing my brain for yet another job - consistent writing.  So move over 10-hour work day and 24-hour mommy and wife!  Until I get everything up and running, I will make every effort to post entries on Thursdays.  Let me just say I gotta feeling video blogging is in my future.

By the way, if you enjoyed reading any of the entries, please leave a comment and become a follower.  I want to know your thoughts and maybe you have a similar family story to share.   This isn't just about me.  It's about all of us out there trying to raise happy and healthy children in a loving family environment.  Enjoy!
