I'm disappointed because I had something really exciting to write about, but all the details didn't pan out as I had hoped. But that's OK. Life goes on...
Lon and I were happy that the kids got to spend some time away this summer, but neither of us is overly excited about it. You always think that you're going to be free when you get rid of the kids. You can do all these random and spontaneous things like eat whatever you want (maybe sneak in an expensive dinner for two), stay out late or maybe walk around the house in your birthday suit. But there's no fun in it anymore. We're both too tired to even muster up any spontaneity.
The drive home from work went something like this:
"What do you wanna do?"
"I don't know. What do you wanna do?"
"Whatever you wanna do. It's up to you."
"Can we go to Port St. Lucie?"
Needless to say, that didn't happen. But I do plan to get something out of this deal. Even if all I do is walk around the house sporting God's greatest outfit.
